James F. Kacena, CMF,
Chair - Ethics Committee
Over thirty years of professional experience
in corporate, health care, educational, and entrepreneurial work
settings serve as a background for Jims internationally recognized
expertise in Career Management Consulting. Beginning his work in
this field in 1980, Jim has consulted over 4,000 individuals on
such topics as professional development, career transition, change
management, and executive coaching.
An independent consultant, and Principal
of his own firm (JFKacena Associates), Jim has lent his expertise
in career counseling, marketing, project management, administration
and developmental coaching. In addition to working with senior executives,
he is frequently asked to direct large group outplacement projects
including the recruitment, training and management of professional
consulting staff.
Jim holds Bachelors and Masters
degrees in Psychology from the University of Illinois, and has completed
work toward an MBA in Marketing from Northwestern University. He
has conducted countless workshops and seminars on career related
topics for professional and community organizations. An accomplished
speaker, he has also written articles for national publication,
has been invited to appear on radio and television programs, and
is often quoted for his insightful and creative approaches to the
job search process.
Active in professional and community
associations, he is a co-founder of the Association for Career Professionals
International (ACP International), where he recently served as U.S.
President for 1,500 members. Presently, he serves as Ethics Chairperson
for the International Board.
In 1994, Jim received one of his highest
honors … being selected as a Charter Fellow within the Institute
of Career Certification International (ICC International), a certifying
organization whose goal is to continually improve the level of competency,
ethics and professionalism in the Career Management field. Jim Kacena
was among only thirteen professionals in the world to have been
awarded this distinction.
